Visiting Academic Fellow

November 2015 to April 2016

Ting Guan is currently working on climate governance in Chinese cities and energy policy design. She contributed to MERICS’ “Environmental Technology and Urban Sustainability”’ research program as a Visiting Academic Fellow from November 2015 to October 2016. She received a PhD from Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China, in the area of Public Policy. In her dissertation she compared how China and Germany use public policy measures to improve energy efficiency in industrial production. Guan has been named a Humboldt scholar, German Chancellor fellow, Green Talents fellow, and Global Governance 2020 fellow.

The  Mercator Institute for China Studies (MERICS)is a Stiftung Mercatorinitiative. Established in 2013, MERICS is a Berlin-based institute for contemporary and practical research into China.
