China & the world

Since Donald Trump’s election victory,  relations between the U.S. and China have been strained. During the election campaign Trump had heavily criticized China and its export-orientated economy. He repeatedly pledged to protect American workers from what he called  “unfair competition”. Politically, Trump’s ambivalent stance on the One-China policy has created tensions. It is also hard to predict how the U.S. will position itself in the territorial disputes in the South China Sea.
