Andrea Frenzel is a project assistant at MERICS. She co-authored the report “China kennen, China können” as part of the project "China competence in Germany." Her work in the project focused on the development of Chinese as a school subject. She is a member of the Association of Chinese language teachers in German speaking countries (FaCh). In addition, her professional focus is on Chinese history and literature, in particular politics and culture of the Republican era, as well as the theory and practice of translation. Frenzel studied literature and Chinese studies at the Free University of Berlin.
